Signal on stbd hoist is two black balls separated by a diamond shape indicating the ship has restricted manoeuvring ability which of course you would have if on a RAS

I don't know what the signals stood for, but I remember one hairy incident when we nearly collided with the repenishment vessel. Mick Carney's severing of the F.F.O may well have saved us from a watery grave! Does anyone else remember the incident?e

Remember an emergency Breakaway, but not the FFO thing, do you remember us firing all the spud pealings and toilet paper from the Mortars at Llandaff when she finally relieved us at Beira! Laughing

I don't Polly, as I recall we were all (stokers) working 'one in three' at all times when were on patrols. Not even much time for some head down time!
