joined Relentless 5 sept 63 to 26 jan 64
as trials crew.AB RP2. Day running from south arm and the occasional night at anchor somewhere in the forth. Remember the trip down to Portland and also one to TORSHAVN with FOSNI aboard.
I was also a ship keeper for Relentless,
Tumult type14 ,Chevron and Matapan as reserve fleet Rosyth 1960_61.Based aboard HMS Duncansby Head.Good old days
still got the cap tallies

joined 185 around 1955.On board when we collided with Vigilant in the Minches.Did a gunnery course Chatham then HMS Dampier far east.

I have just come across this site, wow some surprise. I served on Relentless whilst she was in Rosyth and did the west Indies patrol I think 63/64. will check my records when I get home. Not sure what mess i was in but remember Nigel Pearn, Baggsy Baker,paddy Mitchel. Sorry I was a JMEM(2) at that time I have several names in my head but will sit back in case I have ships mixed up.Will look what pictures I may have . Cheers.

FYI my Dad served in Relentless when I commanded a pedal car around 1955. He has since crossed the bar but he was Sam Bostel. My letters were addressed to the ERA's mess. I recall the ship based at Londonderry & I think Rosyth. Sam left Relentless for Shackleton, then came out in 1958 to work for the CEGB. Same 'ole just bigger engine kit. He died aged 84.

Joined from HMS Tiger Dec 65. Served in HMS Relentless 65 to 68. Far East deployment Beira Patrol, won small ships cup in Singapore, not by myself but had some help from the rest of the team.

served, 64 /66 seaman gunner did we not try to sink a farm with shells off portland or was that some other ship?
